Majestic Wire Trees

Brixham based sculptor, Clive Maddison, uses a technique of twisting wire to create beautiful trees.

The trees are handmade from single strand wires that run from the roots to the leaves. No glue, solder or other means are used to hold them together, it is purely down to the way the strands are twisted. The trees can contain over 100 meters (328 ft) of wire and the method used also ensures that the sculpture is self supporting.

Every sculpture is absolutely unique, individually numbered and include a certificate of authenticity.  Read more

Meet Duncan Palmar on 4th & 5th December

The Duncan Palmar Exhibition in December

We are delighted to have a wide selection of Duncan Palmar’s stunning original oil paintings of local beaches throughout December with Duncan appearing in the gallery from Friday 4th to Saturday 5th December.

We will also be arranging commissions for customers who wish to have their favourite beach or coastal view  depicted by Duncan. This truly is a marvellous way to take your special memories of Cornwall home with you !

duncanDuncan started painting professionally from the age of 19 and continues to attract collectors who appreciate fine oil and watercolour paintings.

Inspired by the Newlyn School of Artists who worked in Cornwall in the last century his distinctive representational style captures texture, light and atmosphere in his landscapes and coastal scenes.

He successfully applies the same principles in his treatment and composition of the interplay of light that those artists achieved in their paintings.

Duncan’s magical coastal scenes evoke memories of the sand between your toes and have become a firm favourite in the gallery. We are delighted that he is able to join us so that customers and collectors have the opportunity to meet and discuss the inspiration behind his work.

Marie Louise Wrightson – Alice in Wonderland Visits The Seaside

Marie Louise Wrightson sees herself primarily as a realist still life oil painter, who uses an eclectic mix of objects & imagery to express interests, passions & memories.

Many of Marie’s works are inspired by memories from her childhood, such as trips to the seaside, colourful sweets, fairground amusements and visits to her grandparents. Such memories are incorporated in figurative form to create a visual self-portrait comprised of past moments and treasured memories.
